One of 6 short films by Slurpy Studios for RIW (Remember It’s Waterproof).
Each film was created to explore a common mistake in the waterproofing process, and to show architects and builders the potential consequences of not doing it properly. They are a funny and tongue in cheek way of talking about quite a serious and technical problem.
They are designed in a 1950’s ‘UPA’ style, with strong character profiles, no straight lines and a carefully designed colour palette. The animation is fun and cartoony, with ‘rubber-hose’ limbs.
Commissioned by Harvest Digital on behalf of Comic Relief and the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), Slurpy Studios worked with Who Are They Productions to produce a short animated film piece to promote the GPE Education Campaign at the UN General Assembly.
In conjunction with Adult Swim, Run The Jewels released a mind-altering video by esteemed cult video artist Cyriak for the albums lead track Meowpurrdy, a remix by El-P that deposits his and Killer Mikes vocal performances in the midst of a rhythmic vapor of meows, purrs, and hisses. Cyriaks visual treatment is an LSD-nightmare miasma of cat limbs and teeth fractalizing into feline Cthulu-esque monstrosities.
The music video for Bonobo’s song, “Cirrus,” is a beautifully surreal video collage created by British animator Cyriak.

We had the most fun ever on this fast turn around spot for Mailchimp, introducing their Google Retargeting Ads integration! On what could have been a UI tour, they let us tell the story using Pearl, a short attention spanned feline wandering the internet in search of yarn.

It’s got a similar feel to the famous Apple commercial but this is a very elegant and well crafted piece about the recent cyclone that hit Fiji.

So this is how they make Swiss/Italian watches! A really nice animation playing on scale from Parallel. Also a great piece of sound design from Alexandre Poirier which really adds to the whole atmosphere.
Often seen as part bumpers during football matches these William Hill adverts combine live action and lots of different styles but it’s the comic strip overlays that appeal most to me.
GoldenWolf design”Infinite Doom” as an ident for Adult Swim’s Venture Bros show. An infinate zoom, simply using a series of illustrations with a straight camera pan. Nice illustrations from clever angles add interest to very straight-forward animation.
Series of animated documents made for a web documentary that tells the story of 5 young Syrian refugees who risked it all for a chance to start over. Treated stills and documents manage to sustain the long sequences.
Not the newest of films here, but the designers at Parallel managed to combine actual products with collage and simple figures within a cleverly lit scene to create a unique short commercial.
Excellent promo for Nike by ECD Jonathan Notaro and the Brand New School. It mixes drawn animation with CG elements to produce this gritty animation with a limited colour palette.
