The New Promised Land. Chapter 3.

This is the third of 3 animation videos I’ve made for a web documentary that tells the story of 5 young Syrian refugees who risked it all for a chance to start over.  Animated by Mira Ruido

LES MONDES DE CHAUMET – LE JAPON

Some nice watercolour illustration animation from Parallel Studios

Vans: 50th Anniversary

Paper cutouts, hand-drawn animation and 3D boxes all in a stop-frame slower frame rate, combine seamlessly for this black and white promotion for 50 years of Vans shoes.

Syracuse: Yield

Dress Code create this montage video for Syracuse university, using cut up photos and video in a collage look.  The recruitment video goes past the general sunny campus video and montages voice and archive stills to create a unique video.

White Out

Hand drawn, inked and painted frame-by-frame, there is no digital cheating here. Over 2000 rotoscoped paintings on a variety of paper surfaces make Jeff Sher’s winter animation.

Martini Racing

Using flat colours to create a mix of 3D and 2D with transitions separating it out from a crowded genre of similar films. Screen print texture added to give it that old racing poster feel too.

Seton – Welcome to Humancare

A cut paper style often seen in still graphics, but rarely animated this way. Technically well made by CHRLX, with a bigger budget than you might imagine. The action is fast and engaging and the duration is to the point.

Going the Distance

Map title sequence, simple idea nicely executed in a fun, crafted way by Imaginary Forces.

Manhattan – Main Title

Simple idea of diagrams on paper done very well in true Imaginary Forces style, similar in fashion to their popular Rubicon title.

Apache

Music video for the band Danger Beach by Ned Wenlock. 2D paper cut out strips are virtually curved around cylindrically to create a moving landscape. From here the video mixes textures and styles to create an engaging and narrative video.

Mobext

Nice idea to frame a simple infographic by Animade. Mainly character based, but the divided blocks allow a mix of results.

The Wiki Man

Hand drawn simple animation, with ink and paper depict a cut-down TED talk, by Moth Collective.

The Sun – An Ode to Telly

A Big mixture of CGI, stop motion, animation and live action seemless mix in this crafted advert for the Sun.

Don't Fail Idaho

Charming infographic using alot of animation to state of the pressures of education in Idaho. A nice mixture of hand drawn animation and transitions give the film a very different look.

Blue Cross Blue Shield

Another infographic but with a slightly more illustrative linear feel to it, with lovely transitions. The Voice over provides the facts and the visual is much more abstract.

Understand Music

Simple, in style and colour animation but with clever technicalities and expertly executed.

La Poste

Another use of 3D unfolding card, getting more and more complex. A small world is unraveled in a small fresh colour scheme with wonderful camera movements.

Parallaxing

A test by us to showing parallaxing a an old photograph celebrating the queens jubilee in Bethnal Green. The photo is split into layers, digitally repainted and then placed into a frame with a 3D virtual camera.

Moleskin: Lego Pitch

Simple animated lego characters sit on an environment of an animated moleskin background. Fun and quirky with simple but sophisticated animation.

Oslo Airport

Nice short film about the expansion to Oslo Airport. The film was made using small models of wood and cardboard to give it that handmade finish which is an interesting combination for a film about an airport expansion.

Secrets of the Taxman

We used quirky animation and a mixed paper layout to roam across individuals and details in for Dispatches’ investigation into HMRC. Elements are drawn appear with marker pens to direct the viewer to different areas.

Commercial animating with a CGI card texture to create origami style movement, folding into/from the box packaging.

We’ve experimenting with techniques to bleed through images, either from one to another to fade in an image, giving it a natural, organic introduction.
